My collars and neck wires are shaped on a mandrel, to help them lay close to the skin. The single wire collars do not appear to have any shaping until you lay them on a flat surface - then you can tell that they are not flat. To assist you in getting collars and neck wires on with the correct side up, I use a hook and eye.
Always hold the collar with the "eye" in your left hand and the "hook" in your right hand. This way the correct side is up as you put the collar on.
Some of the things I like best about neckwires - ~ Comfortable ~ Easy to clasp (put on) and unclasp (take off) ~ The clasp is not continually moving to the front, especially with the "V" shapes. ~ The +2" (choker) lets light in behind small faceted gemstones and really makes them sparkle. ~ They do not swing out like a chain, so that your pendant does not catch on things when you are bending over (including kid’s fingers and pet’s paws). ~ Because they are rigid, you do not feel them against your neck, like you do a chain. ~ When wearing a heavy pendant, they take the weight and support the pendant, the pendant never pulls the collar down and in against your neck. ~ My husband actually noticed my collar and commented that he likes them better than the chains (a very unusual occurrence!)
