This ammonite fossil pendant and earring set is handcrafted from 14K/20 gold filled wire and whole ammonite fossils. All three of these fossils are brown with red highlights. The highlights move around as the fossil moves. There appears to be rough "stripes" in each, but they are smooth to the touch. The first two pictures on the left side show the front of the set. The third image shows the back of the set. The red on the pendant moves up/down the smooth looking "stripes". The pendant is pretty much just reds, but I see an occasional yellow or orange in the bottom right section. The earring on the right in the photos is a great match to the pendant, although I believe it has more red around the perimeter than the pendant. The earring on the left in the photos is a good match for the set, but it is more colorful. The upper half has a lot of reds while the lower right part has greens, yellows, reds, and oranges, just depending on how the light is hitting. Ammonites were ancient sea creatures, similar to today’s chambered nautilus, that fossilized back in the time of the dinosaurs. 14K/20 gold filled wire is basically a tube of 14K gold with a jeweler’s wire down the center for flexibility. It wears well, does not tarnish, and has the same allergy reactions (or non-reactions) as 14K gold.
