This ammonite fossil pendant is handcrafted from 14K/20 gold filled wire, a polished, split half of an ammonite fossil, and a natural ammolite freeform gem.
Please note, only the front, inside part of the fossil is polished. The back, external part of the fossil is the original fossil surface.
Ammonites were ancient sea creatures, similar to today’s chambered nautilus, that fossilized back in the time of the dinosaurs. Ammolite is the fossilized shell of this creature and is a rare, organic gemstone. Read more about ammonites and ammolite.
14K/20 gold filled wire is basically a tube of 14K gold with a jeweler’s wire down the center for flexibility. It wears well, does not tarnish, and has the same allergy reactions (or non-reactions) as 14K gold.
Each of my ammonite pendants are "one-of-a-kind" and you are selecting the actual one you will be receiving. The chain is not included, but I do have a selection of chains if you need one.
