This sugilite pendant is handcrafted from 14K/20 gold filled wire and a sugilite cabochon (cab) from Africa. This one is a bright purple with black and grey highlights. Although the whitish lines are there, I actually had not noticed them until I saw them in the picture. I think the shot in the hand best represents the true color of the stone, even though the metal looks silver there. It definitely is more of a reddish purple than a bluish purple. 14K/20 gold filled wire is basically a tube of 14K gold with a jeweler’s wire down the center for flexibility. It wears well, does not tarnish, and has the same allergy reactions (or non-reactions) as 14K gold.
