This turkish blue druse pendant is handcrafted from 14K/20 gold filled wire and a chalcedony quartz druse cabochon (cab). If the light is perpendicular to the stone, it has a frosted or matte appearance. Hold the stone up though, so the light is bouncing off the tiny crystals, and the surface just sparkles. Unfortunately, I did not get the sparkle in the pictures. The color changes a little with the light. Sometimes it is more of a cornflower blue, like in the picture in the hand. Sometimes it is more of a purplish blue, like in the picture on the black background. 14K/20 gold filled wire is basically a tube of 14K gold with a jeweler’s wire down the center for flexibility. It wears well, does not tarnish, and has the same allergy reactions (or non-reactions) as 14K gold.
