This agate slice pendant is handcrafted from 14K/20 gold filled wire, fire-polished czech glass beads, and a slice of dyed agate. Agate is found in nodules. Agate slices are taken across the nodule, leaving the outer rough edge on the sides. Most agate nodules found today are rather dull colors and most are dyed to create the cheerful colors often seen in jewelry and decorative items such as windchimes. 14K/20 gold filled wire is basically a tube of 14K gold with a jeweler’s wire down the center for flexibility. It wears well, does not tarnish, and has the same allergy reactions (or non-reactions) as 14K gold.
